A Car "IN" Lake Washington near Seward Park passed our kayaks as we were out kayaking June 15, 2012. It turns out it was an "Amphicar." About 3,000 of them were made in the early 1960's. This one seemed to be in mint condition. It looked to me like an old Rambler convertable. It rode low in the water, so am sure it would not be good in choppy water. The rear wheels were turning as it went along, but you could hear a propeller spinning and churning up the water just below the rear bumper. Two ladies were out sunning themselves as they were driving IN the lake near Seward Park!
